Capital Market Leaders Ring Bell for the Global Investor Week

The
Egyptian Exchange (EGX) celebrated the World Investor Week (WIW) with a ringing
of bell. The event was held in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Farid, Chairman of
the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), and number of representatives of
universities in Egypt, representatives of the Egyptian Capital Market
Association (ECMA), the Egyptian Society of Technical Analysts (ESTA), the
Egyptian Private Equity Association (EPEA) and the Egyptian Investment
Management Association (EIMA).
Dr. Mohamed
Farid, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), said that
participation in this activity is an endorsement of the importance of financial
literacy on capital market sector, as financial culture and investor protection
are key elements to achieve financial inclusion.
Rami El-Dokany, Executive Chairman of The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), said that this
celebration reflects our increasing role in supporting and promoting financial literacy
to raise awareness of the Egyptian capital market among youth and the general
public. He stressed the importance of new financial products for the
sustainability of the Egyptian market and reliance on technology in listing and
trading activities.
He added that
EGX strategy for the coming period will include “EGX’s ambassadors program” in all Egyptian
governorates for different segments of society from business owners, employees
and students to spread the knowledge of the basics and principles of investment
and cumulative long-term savings as well as the role of the capital market in
financing business in different economic sectors.
EGX
celebration was held in the presence of the first batch of "EGX
Ambassador's program", students of the LSE College of the University of
London UOL, and the initiative of the EGX Ambassadors is the first TOT program that
prepared trainers for financial literacy organized by the Egyptian Exchange to
prepare qualified students majoring in investment and finance in universities
in Egypt.
At the end of
the celebration, EGX's Chairman and a number of university presidents held a
meeting to discuss EGX efforts in bridging the gap of financial knowledge and
spreading financial awareness.
